Simple Things You Can Do to Stay Centered

by Cherrene Taylor

Be in Community
Belong to a group of people who share your goals, your common interests, your outlook on life and especially your spiritual beliefs. Study groups are wonderful ways to hook up with people of like mind and find some common interests... don't be shy. This gives you great strength when those dark clouds sometimes surround you.

Quiet Time
Turn off the Noise!! Take at least 20 minutes a day and just sit, breathe and empty your mind. Light a candle, stare at the flame, and let your mind focus on the nothingness of the light and the air going in and out of your "body temple." This short amount of "down time" is extremely beneficial to your mental, spiritual, as well as physical well-being.

Get a Spiritual Tune-up!
Intuitive Guidance is something that everyone could benefit from at some time in their lives. We are constantly wondering if a current relationship is going in the right direction, or trying to break unhealthy life patterns, or stressing over financial issues, or maybe wanting to see if we have any health challenges. Intuitive counseling can help you see what is around you "energetically" and then help you move through it, with more clarity. Check out www.ctaylordesign.com and find out more!

What did you have for breakfast?
Your mind is forever burning the fuel to keep all the information highways open and ready for anything that comes in. If the tank is empty, you sputter into slowdown and eventually cut off completely. The brain functions primarily on protein and essential fatty acids. To kick start your day, skip the caffeine and the Wheaties and have a few eggs (maybe in an omelet), a protein shake, or almond butter on wheat toast, with some fruit. Your energy will be maxed until your "protein power lunch" and your day will be "extreme!"

The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz (Amber-Allen Publishing)
Rooted in traditional Toltec beliefs, these four agreements are essential steps on the path to personal freedom. Be impeccable with your word; Say only what you mean. Don't take anything personally; Self-importance leads people to think they are the center of the universe, causing pain and injustice. Don't make assumptions; To avoid frustration and blame, ask what is meant; Always do your best; This is the surest way to avoid self-condemnation, though it is important to realize one's best is always changing. Lose the judge and victim, gain transformation.
